Join an MTRP Trail Guide on a guided nature walk and learn about the plants, animals, geology, history, and ecology of the park on one of these scenic trails:

-The Oak Grove Loop showcasing majestic coast live oaks and rare Engelmann’s oaks.

-The Visitor Center Loop highlighting coastal sage scrub, chaparral, and riparian woodland habitats.

-The Riverside Grinding Rocks featuring one of the archaeological sites in the park.

These interpretive nature walks are offered to enhance your appreciation of the unique beauty of San Diego’s natural environment. The park is constantly changing, so see and learn new things on walks throughout the year.

Walks start from the Visitor Center every Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

Walks are free and open to the public, with no reservations required. The trails used are easy, but have uneven surfaces and some involve steps, so be sure to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring along water. A hat and sunscreen

Maritime Museum of San Diego

2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month

Guided Docent Led Tours at the Maritime Museum of San Diego is your opportunity to learn of the ships in-depth stories from our trained knowledgeable historians, and enjoy the waterfront sights of San Diego Bay while meeting other people with like interests in maritime heritage and history.

Come join us from 11:15am-1:15pm each week for a fabulous foodie tour adventure sampling iconic Italian and Italian American classics available at Little Italy venues where only locals know where to find them. Taste foods from South Philly, Naples, Palermo, New York and Torino. You will be so full and will have so much fun, you will want to come again and bring your friends and family. This immersive experience takes you on a culinary tour of Little Italy as guests savor the delicious cuisine Italy is known for, while strolling through the neighborhood, seeing the sights and learning about the neighborhood’s history. This food tour will highlight several Little Italy restaurants representing different regions of Italy including some traditional neighborhood staples and new ones with a modern twist. Hear the heartwarming stories of how these recipes and dishes came to be and learn about the history of these first-generation Italian restaurants and their owners.
